Fall in Love with the Future. Empowering Local Climate Action: Education, Policy and Practice

We are excited to announce the opening event for PNW Climate Week here in Portland. Join Future Climate Collective, Lewis and Clark Law School and its Green Energy Institute, as well as Electrify Oregon for a day of “Empowering Local Climate Action: Education, Policy and Practice.” The events will take place at Lewis and Clark College’s Fowler Student Center, and will include a visioning session, a series of panels and workshops, a keynote speaker, and a reception.

The transition to a clean energy future starts in our own living rooms. Join the Grant HS Climate Action Team for an evening of professional insights, hands-on demos, and the practical tools you need to decarbonize your home and community.

  • Who: Open to all Grant families, middle school students, and NE Portland neighbors.

  • Funding the Future: A briefing from the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF) on local grants and financial resources.

  • The Power of Home: Brian Stewart from ElectrifyNow, sharing the "Why" and "How" of moving from gas to clean electric.

  • Civic Leadership: Insights from Representative Thủy Trần.

Interactive Action Tables

Explore these stations between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM to build your personalized action plan.

  • The Electrify PDX Hub: Get 1-on-1 advice on transitioning your home to electric appliances.

  • The Carbon Footprint Lab: Use CO2 sensors to visualize your home’s impact and learn how to reduce it.

  • The Commitment Wall: Make your pledge for 2026 and create a custom button to mark your progress.

The Scavenger Hunt
