Twyla Metcalf
Background: Environmental Studies major at Lewis & Clark College with a planned minor in Art History; originally from Southern California and a 2024 graduate of The Waverly High School.
Climate Expertise: Deep experience in community composting, organic waste systems, and youth-led sustainability through her leadership of Compost Culture, a 501(c)(3) she helped run for three years. Additional hands-on expertise in soil health, compost microbiology, and waste diversion from her internship with 301 Organics.
Teaching & Community Experience: Extensive background working with young learners as a teaching assistant across multiple arts and enrichment programs, including Creative World Art School, Art/Work/Place, and the South Pasadena Educational Foundation. Skilled at supporting student creativity, designing hands-on art installations, and maintaining welcoming learning environments.
